Days are getting cooler, Halloween decorations are going up, it’s turning into my favorite time of the year! For a long time I’ve loved the fall and winter seasons, so getting to experience them in my apartment with Lukas and the cats will be so unforgettable. Plus I’m so excited to get out more jackets!! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays besides Christmas, so as soon as early September hit, the Halloween decor started to make its way into our home!
With me being out of school, I have to keep myself occupied. That means video games, crafts, chores, or quality time! I’m still learning to keep up with the chores part, especially since I don’t have a parent telling me to not forget to do them. But the reward of completing them motivates me to complete my chores for the day! I keep busy during the day as much as I can, getting myself ready for the day, errands, chores or whatever I need to do; and THEN it’s relaxing time! Whether that’s TV time or video game time, no more chores for me!
Some friends of mine got me into a game called Hollow Knight, and I’ve been playing it a LOT lately. It’s a souls-like game (open world game with story to follow and lots of NPCs & bosses to fight) that came out in 2017. I’m very much enjoying it so far, and taking my time! I like finding all the details in a game, so I know I’m gonna spend as much time as I can trying to do that as I keep progressing!
I’m still playing LOTS of Minecraft and Marvel Rivals. I’d say those three games are my main rotation of games to play right now. I get to build cool things in Minecraft, play as a cool superhero in Marvel Rivals, and explore a cool world in Hollow Knight!
Playing such a variety of games has been helping me play better with each game too. I don’t know how to describe it, but understand one game’s controls helps me figure out another easier! Like my movies, shows and music, I like my variety. So this works out in my favor in the long run. I’ve been a casual gamer most of my life, so now that I have a PC, and my game access just got a lot bigger, it’s been a fun journey finding games I like!
I’ve also been trying to continue doing other things that are not on my phone. The collection of coloring books keeps growing, and I’ve been stocking up on coloring supplies! I picked up a graphic novel to read a couple days ago since my reading time hasn’t been very prominent as of late. It’s a short trollhunters graphic novel, that gives a little extra backstory into the series on Netflix. I brought it with me to read to work that day, but I also have a reading corner in my room I need to utilize!
Holiday plans are being made with family and friends! I can’t believe it’s already gift purchasing time. You always think you’re ready for this time of year, and then it just sneaks up on you! I’m someone who likes to get her gifts for people early, so it already being almost October doesn’t make it easy! I know I still have a couple months, but that’s gonna go by so quick! I just always look forward to seeing people’s reactions to their gifts, that’s probably my favorite part. ❤
Speaking of gifts, I need to find Toothless’ birthday gift! Hid first birthday is coming up on October 20th! He’s already gotten so big, look!!!
The one on the left is when we first took Toothless home around the beginning of January, and the one on the right is Toothless a few days ago! He’s already looking as big as his older sister! I didn’t give him permission to grow this big!! He and Thena are really loving this apartment, especially with the new toys they get! My family and Lukas’ family love getting new toys for the babies, so they’re never bored in this house! We’ll find them either eating, drinking, playing, or sleeping. With some snuggle time from time to time! They even might be getting to go on the porch here soon…YAY!!!
Today is my second day off in a row, and then I’m pack to work. I keep myself busy and make the money, so I can keep living in my apartment!! No one really likes working, but I make it through so I can live the life I wanna live. And hopefully soon I’ll have a photography job to jumpstart my career. That’s the goal!!
I would love to do one of these updates monthly, with other blog posts done throughout the month in between, so it gives me less excuses to be doom scrolling. Plus, it’s a way to post without posting on social media!
