Texture in an image is the visual depiction of the surface quality of an object, can be visual (you can imagine how it feels) or tactile (you can actually feel it).

All of these images have some sort of texture with each different object. Texture shots are one of my favorite to snag, just because seeing the shapes up close is always so visually appealing to my eye. Getting the close up compared to the big picture brings more character to the object or objects pictured.

In this image, the carpet is the primary texture, and the dog’s fur is the secondary texture. It gives the viewer more places to look at.

This is a close up shot of my sister. It isn’t intentionally a texture shot, but with it being a close up, you can see the detail in her hair, her forehead, and her eyes. So this shot would work if you were looking for texture in the photo.

Photos with texture don’t always have to have deep depth of field. This image only has one or two flowers in focus, but it’s close enough to where you can notice the texture on said flowers.
Texture can be in any and every photo, there’s just certain photos where it really seems to pop!
