Spider-Man. When we hear that name, we all know who it is. The superhero in the spandex red and blue suit, spider eye lenses, and the famous chest spider. But what if everyone knew who Spider-Man was in the actual story? This movie explains just that.
No Way Home was the absolute best movie to end 2021 with. It was the movie we all needed after these tough years of the virus. It was so nice to be able to go out and to the theaters again, with my best friends of all people, to see this wonderful movie.

When we went into the theater, well, as you can see my friends, Peter and Matt, were cosplaying as Spider-Man but from different universes! Peter’s suit is from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014), while Matt’s is from Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). Matt’s dad was actually cosplaying Doctor Strange from No Way Home! And as you can see, I cosplayed Gwen Stacy (I miss you Gwen ;-;)!
ANYWAY, we were walking into the theater and there was just so many people there to see the movie. I mean, what do you expect, it’s the movie we’ve been waiting for all year. There were other people with Spider suits as well!
Seeing it opening night was such an experience. The theater that we went to exploded in cheer when exciting things happened, which was so cool! If I remember right, that’s never happened while I’ve been at theaters until then, so it was fuckin awesome.
The way that the movie was made was so amazing. I am not going to spoil anything here, by the way, so no need to worry about that if you haven’t seen it yet.
The beginning starts right after Far From Home, so it’s best to know the story of that film before you go into No Way Home. Right away, this movie is packed with action and cool sequences, going quickly but in a way that the audience can take in all the information easily. As the movie progresses, more people start showing up. Otto, Norman, Max, the villains we have seen in the trailers. They have more updated looks, but they’re very well done, more accurate to the comics, and fit with the new universe that they are in.
The third act of the movie was probably my favorite of the whole film. You really see the emotion each actor brings out, you see how passionate they are to play their characters. And in my opinion that’s what makes the acting even more genuine, when you are passionate about playing your character. When you know your character, you can embody them. They all knew their character, so that made each and every one have such a better performance. And I think that’s one of the reasons I love this movie so much. Because all the actors know what they’re doing. They embodied their characters flawlessly.
When we were waiting to leave on the premiere night (Peter was taking pictures with people afterwards), we saw the Scream poster for the most recently released Scream movie! By now, it’s been released and we’ve seen it already (be on the lookout for a blog about that one soon), but at the time we hadn’t of course!
I looked over at Matt and he was just analyzing the shit out of the poster. He’s on the Scream discord server so he got the hints and stuff on who the killers were, so he was trying to look at the poster and decipher them and he kept going on and on about it! Not that it’s a bad thing of course! I completely get going on and on about your hyperfixations.
But I managed to get a photo of when he was looking at the poster.

You can tell how happy he is looking at it!
But yes as I stated earlier I will be writing about Scream here soon so keep a look out on that. I’ll even include some photos from opening night! Matt cosplayed as the GhostFace himself…
Now with Peter, Spider-Man has been his comfort character ever since he was a kid. So this movie coming out really was a big deal for him. And it’s completely understandable why. The suit he’s wearing is a new one, actually. He got it recently and has been working on the puffy paint on it for a little bit now, but it already looks fantastic. Hell, you can see how it looks in these photos!

This suit is his absolute pride and joy. And from what I can remember from it, I remember him mentioning that when he puts on the suit, his goal is to make people happy. To make people smile. He wants to help people. And that’s one of the characteristics that make him such an Extraordinary Spider-Man (nudge to his original Spider-Man variant!).
When we went into the movie, each of us had our own hopes and expectations for this movie, and I might not know all of them, but I do know that a lot of us got what we had hoped for in a multitude of ways.
This movie is what we needed. That beacon of hope to keep us going through these tough times. And I know that as Spider-Man’s story continues, we are going to continue to be brought that hope and remember to keep going.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is an action packed superhero movie that is full of fun and emotion. If you love the hero, like Marvel or are even just interested in the film, watch the trailer below!
This movie is an absolute 10/10 in my books.
